Peter Golub


Peter Golub - composer of numerous films scores, as well as works for the theatre, ballet and concert hall.

His recent film scores include: These Amazing Shadows (2011 Sundance Film Festival), Countdown to Zero (Participant Films, shown at 2010 Sundance Film Festival and Cannes); Frozen River (directed by Courtney Hunt, Nominated for 2 Academy Awards, Winner of Grand Jury Prize for Best Film at the 2008 Sundance Film Festival); The Great Debaters (co-composed with James Newton Howard and directed by Denzel Washington); I.O.U.S.A., (directed by Patrick Creadon); Outrage, (direct by Kirby Dick, premiered at Tribeca Film Festival and presented on HBO); Wordplay (The Weinstein Company and IFC Films); The Laramie Project (for HBO ,with Steve Buscemi, Laura Linney and Christina Ricci); American Gun (with Forest Whitaker and Donald Sutherland); and Stolen (awarded Best Music at 2003 Avignon Film Festival).  He has also written numerous scores for the theatre, both on Broadway and off.  Recent concert works include Dark Carols(for chorus and orchestra); Threaded Dances (for flute and piano); As Birds Do, Mother (for cellos and oud); and Sisyphus Rocks (for narrator and chamber orchestra).  Since 1999 he has been Director of the Sundance Film Music Program.
